Senior Student Families (Students Year 4, 5 & 6)...
Next WEDNESDAY (June 17) is our Senior Inter-House Athletics Carnival. Please see (below) for details.
The day will begin at 8:50 am sharp on the Senior Oval. To allow us to start and finish on time, please ensure your child is at school by 8.30am for roll marking before making their way to the oval.
Students will be involved in a March Past, Track Events (800m, 100m, 200m, relays), Long Jump, Shotput and Discus. Not all students will be required to do the 800m or 200m. Students are encouraged to have a go at the 100m, long jump, shot put, discus and relays. All participants earn points for their sporting house.
Students in year’s 4-6 also have the opportunity to run in the 1500m. This event will be held on Friday, 12th June at 8:15 am on the senior oval. All students in year’s 4-6 are welcome to take part in this event.
Schedule of Events:

- 8:50 – 9:00 March Past
- 9:00 – 9:30 Boys and Girls 800m finals
- 9-30 – 11:00 All girls will be involved in the 100m and 200m. All boys are involved in discus, long jump and shot put.
- 11:00 – 11:45 Lunch
- 11:45 – 1:15 All boys will be involved in the 100m and 200m. All girls will be involved in discus, long jump and shot put.
- 1:15 – 1:45 Lunch
- 1:45 – 3:00 Relays, Mackay West Gift Race, tidy up and presentation of awards.
As always, families are welcome to come & support students, feel free to find yourself shade around the senior campus oval – staying well behind event markers.
Children are encouraged to:
- Wear a shirt of their sporting house colour for the day. Please note that regular school coloured shorts/skirts/skorts should be worn. If students don’t have a house coloured shirt, they are welcome to wear either our sports uniform or regular school uniform.
- wear a hat
- bring sunscreen
- bring a water bottle
- wear suitable shoes
- If your child is wearing coloured zinc or hair spray (in house colours), this must be applied at home.
As the Discus event is classified as a "High Risk" activity, consent is required for children to compete - please check your QParents Notifications from this morning & lodge your (electronic) consent via the app. If you do not have an active QParents account, please consider downloading the app & applying for an account today!
