Wishing all our staff and students a relaxing holiday. It has been another busy term at Mackay West State School with a large number of events, activities, and most importantly, lots of learning.
A quick analysis of our Semester 1 report card data shows that 87.1% of students received a “C” or better for English which is 3% above the state average, and 4% above the Central Queensland average. Similarly in Maths, 90.3% of students received a “C” or better which was 5% above the state average, and 6% above the Central Queensland average. Science and HASS results were also well above the state and Central Queensland average. Impressive outcomes such as these, are the result of quality differentiated and individualised teaching and assessment from our staff, as well as persistence and effort from our students.
I also commend our parents for their attention to completing homework (revision) and for ensuring that your child(ren) are at school each and every day. Keep up the great work Westies!
