Mackay West State School boasts a long tradition of active participation in the community, and partnering in collaborative relationship with local organisations.  We actively support our local libraries, community groups and other organisations fostering support and parental/familial empowerment in an effort to enrich student learning and wellbeing.

MWSS is working closely with our partner-Secondary School Mackay State High School to ensure our senior students & their families continue their educational journey with a smooth and stress-free transition onto high school.

Fun Squad and PCYC Queensland - PCYC Queensland is a trusted organisation. We have experience and research behind us, and children and young people are at the centre of all we do.  Our 750-person strong Fun Squad teams are backed by 1,529 PCYC Queensland Business Partners, Sport and Rec and Youth and Community Program team members as well as, 2,700 volunteers and the Queensland Police Service. We are strong and well-supported.

The Smith Family believes that education is one of the world’s most powerful change agents. They focus on helping young Australians to overcome educational inequality caused by poverty.  As a national, independent charity, every day we work with thousands of children and their families to help them unlock better futures for themselves.  The Smith Family in Mackay offers a range of programs aimed at ensuring no child is disadvantaged by economic circumstance.
