SchoolStream App and Staying in Touch

We use multiple means to communicate important information with parents and carers. 

• Our fortnightly newsletter which included a wealth of information about upcoming events and activities, celebrations and other important reminders and information.
• Email – we frequently utilise email for personal communication with parents and for group messages and updates.  Please ensure your email address is up-to-date to stay informed.
• Class Newsletters – each week teachers will email home a class newsletter which will include information on what students are learning in class each week, as well as other important updates.
• School Stream – We use school stream app to send home messages.  This format allows us to send push notifications with lots of information in a timely manner.  To sign up to SchoolStream, see below.
• SMS (text) – Messages of high importance will be sent to parents via SMS. 
• Facebook – Please like our page to keep up-to-date on current events (we live stream events), reminders of upcoming events, and all the great things that happen at Mackay West SS. 
  
• QParents - is a secure, online portal that has been created by the Department of Education to provide parents of Queensland state school students with 24-hour access to their child's information. The portal allows you to securely access information about your child and communicate directly with your child's school.
