Year 4-6 Swimming Carnival
The 2022 Mackay West Swimming Carnival for students in grades 4, 5 and 6 will be held at the new Mackay ARC complex near the university. The carnival will be held in week 9 on Friday the 2nd of December.
All students will be travelling to and from the complex by bus. Students in grades 4, 5 and 6 will be required to be at school by 8:45 a.m. There will be no cost for the bus or entry to the pool.
All spectators are welcome to attend the swimming carnival. There will be no cost to come and watch.
The events students will be participating in will include the 25m freestyle, 25m backstroke, 25m breaststroke and 25m freestyle relay.
For students not confident in swimming 25m events there will be numerous events across the pool including novelty events. The carnival will have a lifeguard, first aid officer and numerous strong swimmers and teachers in the pool to assist where required.
The attached Medical/Permission Form and transport attachment must be returned to the classroom teacher by the 18/11/2022.
Children will need to
- Bring swimmers/ a towel/ and clothes to change in to.
- bring a water bottle
- wear suitable shoes
- bring lunch/NO Purchasing of products at the pool.
- bring sunscreen
- hat
- wear house colours
